‘BNI OVERSTEPPED THEIR BOUNDARIES’- KEN ADDY

A member of the Ghana Cinematography and Exhibition Board of Control, Ken Addy said the Beau of National Investigation have overstepped their boundaries in seizing movie entitled ‘Oh Uncle Atta and Atta Mortuary Man’.
He explained that the members of the board would not pass the movie if it connotes anything with President Mills.
Ken Addy stressed that the national security officials should have contacted members of Cinematography and Exhibition Board of Control before they acted on seizing the suppose controversial movie.
The two movies have nothing to do with the name of the President, it’s a story character that bears the name ‘Atta’, he added.
Ken Addy made these comments on Dwaso Nsem programme on Adom fm.
He reiterated that the national security apparatus should have at least preview the movie before they took any action.
A Movie Producer and Director, Mr. Kofi Asamoah, said the state broadcaster Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GTV) has refused to play his advert on his controversial movie ‘Oh Uncle Atta and Atta Mortuary Man’.
He said since he placed his commercial with GBC, they have directed him to change the title of the movie or they would not air his advert because the title connotes the name of the President.
But the young Movie Producer and Director insist his GHC40, 000 movie, ‘Oh Uncle Atta’, has nothing to do with President Atta Mills.

According to the director, he fears his new movie, titled “Oh Uncle Atta”, may be prevented from being released onto the market by National Security operatives and elements within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Asamoah stated that although the title and content of his Movie has no bearing on President John Evans Atta Mills, he believes that may be the purpose of the National Security’s action.

According to him, his fears were heightened after some persons believed to be National Security Operatives, stormed the Opera Square and made away with all copies of a new movie that had been released by his colleague Producer.

Meanwhile, one of the actors of ‘Oh Uncle Atta’ movie and Ghana's dynamic local language female actress, Rose Mensa also known as Akua Atta Kyeiwaa said it very unfortunate for anybody to have thought that the movie was targeted at the President.
She said the movie is distant from connoting the President as a failure but rather the movie tells a story about the plight of a man name ‘Atta’.
Meanwhile, the self acclaim Atta Mortuary says he will sue the producers of the movie for using his name to make movies without any form of financial assistance.
The 81 year old man explains he will not allow his name to use for selfish interest without his consent.

PSYCHOLOGIST SAYS IT WILL BE SCIENTIFICALLY DIFFICULT TO PROVE SPIRITUAL INFLUENCE IN SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS

A psychologist at the University of Ghana, Emmanuel Asiampong says it will be difficult for scientists to test the authencity of some pastors using spiritual powers to engage in sexual activities with members of their congregation.
He explains that with our traditional African setting it’s possible to have sexual intercourse with someone through spiritual means but that can be difficult to substantiate in the scientific world.
Mr. Emmanuel Asiampong was commenting on a recent story in which a woman had claimed that a pastor had had sexual intercourse without her being aware.
He says women who go to their pastors for ‘prayers’ should not be blamed too much because sometimes economic hardships and depression can push them into doing so.

In a related development, a pastor at the Word Miracle Church International, Rev Noah Twum says the recent abuse of some women by pastors is a clear indication of some of the signs that the end of the world is near.
He says people should not be surprised to hear of such issues but should be steadfast in the Lord because those pastors are goats in the midst of sheep.

Ben Ephson is unreliable – Spio Garbrah

Former Vice Chairman and Flag bearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah has lashed out at the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch, Ben Ephson saying he is unreliable.

Dr Spio-Garbrah says Ben Ephson’s newspaper’s report that he earns $ 10,000 every month as a Member of the Board of Anglogold Ashanti is inaccurate and not factual.

In its Tuesday, May 24 edition of the Daily Dispatch, the newspaper said its investigations have revealed that Dr Spio-Garbrah, who chose to serve on the Anglogold Ashanti Board, earns at least US$ 120,000 a year and in addition, he wanted to be made the Chairman of at least two other boards, GETFund and COCOBOD.

But speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM on Tuesday, Dr Spio-Garbrah rubbished the newspaper’s claims saying the amount quoted was not even true because he received far below that.

He said even the Chairman of the Anglogold Board does not receive that huge amount of money so there was no way he could be paid that much adding that the company could not even pay them so much because it has its social responsibility projects to attend to.

He challenged the Managing Editor of Daily Dispatch to stop cooking up figures and conduct his own checks at the company’s offices on the allowances the Board of Directors receive adding it is not his responsibility as a Board members to talk about how much they are paid.

Dr Spio-Garbrah disclosed that he was not in the country to amass unnecessary wealth and that if his only motive had been to make money, he would have accepted the request from South African President, Jacob Zuma to serve on a Board in the country.

He said he has the interest of the nation at heart and will not indulge in selfish acts that would cost the nation a lot of money further stating that he will continue to serve the interest of the people of Ghana.

On why he decided to contest for the flag bearer of the NDC, Dr Spio-Garbrah, who was the former head of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation said he came to pick up the nomination forms as a symbol of the need for peace in the party.

He stated that even if it has to take him and the other aspirants; President Mills and former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings stepping down to ensure peace and unity in the party, he would do everything possible to ensure that the decision is taken.

Commenting on how his campaign is going, he disclosed that the endorsement process is going on smoothly even though some intimidation has been encountered alleging that some of the people they have approached have been reluctant to sign for fear of being tagged as belonging to one faction.

He revealed that he knew beforehand that he would face some challenges in his bid so he is not really surprised at what is happening now but expressed optimism that he would overcome them and emerge victorious at the NDC’s July Congress.

False prophets should be arrested – Gabriel Ansah

An end time preacher, Rev Gabriel Ansah has said that laws should be enacted to arrest and prosecute pastors who give false prophecies for causing fear and panic.

Rev Gabriel said such false prophets usually cause their victims emotional, physical and even psychological pain and should be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.

Rev Gabriel Ansah said some of these so called prophets’ sensationalism have caused divisions in families and put people who they have accused of being witches among others through unbearable torture so it is about time government enacts laws to deal with them.

He was speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM on Monday in reaction to the failure of a doomsday prediction that Saturday May 21 would be the end of the world.

According to 89-year-old Harold Camping, who owns the Family Radio broadcasts in the United States, he had emphatic evidence from the Bible that May 21 would be the day of the Rapture as well as Judgment Day.

Although he was not too certain about the time, he posited that the event would take place at 6PM in the various time zones in the form of a great earthquake after which the world will officially end on October 21, 2011.

Mr. Camping’s prophecy did not come to pass but he and his group of followers who spread their message through billboards and radio broadcasts across the world, caused a lot of anxiety and panic among people.

However there were those who did not believe him considering that he had made a similar prediction in 1994 that did not happen either. Rev Gabriel Ansah was one of such who on several platforms had made nonsense of Mr. Camping’s prophecy.

The preacher who is also the host of N’asem University on Adom FM told Dwaso Nsem host, Frimpong Manso Adakabre that he knew the prophecy was false because it is biblically incorrect.

He said there are signs that would signal the world coming to an end which have not come to pass including the fact that the Word of God would be preached in all corners of the world, believers would let go of their faith and most importantly the rise of the Antichrist so there was no way Mr. Camping could be correct.

He stated that he was so surprised people believed Mr. Camping and sold off their property or used their money to put up billboards echoing that false prophecy and cautioned Christians to be wary of such false prophets.

Rev. Ansah stated that this prediction is part of the many stories that the Scriptures say will be told by false prophets who will seek to deceive the world about when Christ would come.

He blamed pastors for contributing in making people believe false prophecies like that of Mr. Camping’s saying they have stopped preaching the Word of God and salvation and are only interested in prophesying falsely and selling items like soap, oil, handkerchiefs among others to unsuspecting victims.

He also rubbished latest prophecies by a Ghanaian pastor and another prediction on the Internet that the world will end in November 2011 and December 2012 respectively saying they are all false and people should not be misled.

Rev. Gabriel Ansah cautioned Christians to remind steadfast and vigilant in serving the Lord so that they are not overtaken by events because Jesus will surely come again although the time and date is not known.

Meanwhile, the evangelist at the centre of the May 21 hoax, Harold Camping, has not been seen or heard from since that day.

Traitors have crucified Nana Konadu – FONKAR

The Operations Manager of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR), the former First Lady’s campaign team, has labeled Education Minister, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Madam Cecilia Johnson and Environment, Science and Technology Minister, Sherry Ayittey as traitors for turning their backs on their long time friend.

Ernest Owusu Bempah says the three women are like the Biblical Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus Christ because they have betrayed Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings by pitching camp with President Mills.

Betty Mould Iddrisu, Cecelia Johnson and Sherry Ayittey have long been considered as staunch supporters of the Rawlingses.

Betty Mould Iddrisu was once supported by Mr and Mrs Rawlings for running mate of President Mills while Cecelia Johnson and Sherry Ayittey were close confidants of Mrs Rawlings and were an integral part of her 31st December Women’s Foundation, travelling with her to various parts of the country.

Owusu Bempah, who was a guest on Adom FM’s current affairs programme, Dea Me Hunu accused them of suddenly shying away from Nana Konadu because of their ministerial appointments as well as Ambassadorial appointments that have been given to their husbands.

He alleged that they were the detractors in the party who only care about their personal interest and not about the NDC and the country.

Ernest Owusu Bempah however stated that they are not perturbed about the defections of supporters of the Rawlingses to the camp of President because they are certain that Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings will eventually emerge as the victor in the coming Sunyani Congress since she is the people’s choice.

External powers are influencing BNI – Herbert Mensah

Ally to the Rawlingses, Herbert Mensah has criticized President Mills’ governance style saying the system does not give enough room for people to come out to air their views without fear or favour.

Mr. Mensah was on Monday May 16 detained by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) who questioned on him about the now infamous GHS 90 million tapes he claimed was in his possession.

About a week ago, Mr Mensah told Adom FM that, he and former President Jerry Rawlings had listened to tapes obtained from the Castle on which President Mills campaign team were discussing using GHS 90 million of state funds to fuel his flagbearership bid of the NDC.

That statement generated heated controversy with denials from government officials and NDC supporters who called for Herbert Mensah’s head; even President Mills weighed in on the matter calling on the National security apparatus to investigate the matter to ascertain the truth in the matter.

National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah, also stated that they were interested in the allegations and may invite him to assist them in investigations.

The culmination of all the controversy was Mr Mensah’s invitation to the BNI offices and his subsequent detainment. He was released later in the evening on Monday.

But speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM on Tuesday, Mr Mensah alleged that there are external forces interfering in the work of the BNI.

He said what he observed when he went to their offices proved that there were some outside influences hampering their work citing the long hours he was detained there even though there was no formal invitation, the absence of his lawyer among others as examples of interference and influence.

Mr Mensah recalled that in former Presidents Rawlings and J.A. Kufuor’s administration, he used to take on the system and made very serious comments about perceived corrupt officials even calling for their arrest sometimes but there was not a single occasion where he was invited for questioning by the BNI.

He said matters could have taken an unpleasant twist on Monday if he wasn’t associated with the Rawlingses.

The former Asante Kotoko Chairman explained that he did not receive any formal invitation but only got a call from the BNI boss, Yaw Donkor to come to their offices in Accra for discussions about the GHC90 million tapes.

According to him, he was interrogated the first time before four senior BNI officials came to the conference room for further questioning after which he asked them to call his lawyer if things were going to be formal but they kept insisting that it was informal.

Mr Mensah said just when he was about to leave, the officials told him to fill a formal document about the interrogation but he declined.

He alleged that the officials forced him to change his statements but he refused to do so.

Meanwhile Mr. Mensah will be making another appearance at the BNI headquarters today.

Herbert Mensah ready to release GHC 90 million security tape

Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah says he is ready to release the security tape on which he alleges President Mills’ campaign team planned to use GHC 90 million for his flagbearership bid.

In an off air interview on Friday, Mr. Mensah said he will give the team of Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, the opportunity to listen to the two-hour security tape which he and former President Rawlings had access to from the Castle.

There is a catch however; he will let the team be privy to only a 9-minute discussion on the GHC 90 million campaign budget which they can play back to listeners on Dwaso Nsem on Monday, May 16.

The exact day, location and time were not disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the matter.

On Tuesday May 10, Herbert Mensah, a strong supporter of the Rawlingses, alleged that he and former President Jerry Rawlings had discovered from security tapes they got from the Castle that President Mills’ campaign team planned to use about GHC90 million to fuel his campaign for flag bearer of the NDC.

He was however not willing to go into details on the matter such as where the funds will be coming from, stating that at the appropriate time, they will come out with the full details.

That allegation has generated so much controversy with government officials and NDC officials all speaking on the matter and flatly denying the story.

Even President Mills in an interview with Asempa FM denied the allegation and called on National Security to immediately investigate the matter.

The President laughingly said if he had access to such funds, he would have used it to complete the various road construction projects ongoing in the country.

The National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah has also hinted he will invite Herbert Mensah for questioning over the allegations.

Mr. Mensah himself has not been spared as he has been thoroughly bashed by NDC supporters and government officials who have called him all kinds of name from being a liar to being an enemy of the Rawlingses who wants to bring the NDC down.

Speaking on the release of the tapes on Dwaso Nsem on Friday, Major (Rtd) Boakye Gyan said Adom FM will do its listeners and the whole country a disservice if they refuse to go and listen to the tape.
He explained that the alleged security tape is of national interest which should not be hidden.

The former Journalist and security expert however cautioned that the appropriate background checks be made to verify the voices on that tape to ensure that it is genuine before it is released for public consumption.

President Mills is Ghana’s most decent politician – Ato Forson

Inspite of the concerns by some Ghanaians over the manner in which politics is conducted in the country, Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Mr Cassel Ato Forson has said that there are still some decent personalities in Ghanaian Politics today.

Mr. Forson rubbished speculations that politicians are the most corrupt people on earth, stating that President Mills is one of the few decent politicians the country has ever produced.

The MP stressed that there was no way President Mills could use GHS 90 million to campaign for his election for the flagbearership slot alone, at the expense of other challenging assignments in the country.

Speaking to Adakabre Frimpong Manso on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, Mr. Forson who is the youngest Parliamentarian in the Legislature noted that, the President is on course in his Better Ghana Agenda projects.

The Central Regional Coordinator of Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME) is confident President Mills will get the nod to lead the NDC once more when congress is over.

Responding to a question as to how President Mills is funding his campaign, Mr Cassel Ato Forson disclosed that members of GAME have voluntarily decided to assist the President in cash or any other means.

Mr Ato Forson said the delegates have already accepted and voted for the President in advance by helping to fuel cars and providing shelter for the campaign team.

He also criticized the NPP for using state funds to orchestrate their campaign in 2008 and turning around to accuse President Mills of doing the same.

He described Communications Director of the NPP, Nana Akomea, as a disgrace to the youth because he does not exhibit the true virtues of a youth leader but rather issues uninformed statement on behalf of the NPP.

Yaw Boateng Gyan noted that President Mills is not interested in using state money to fuel his campaign.

We are not prepared to be anybody’s running mate – Josiah Aryeh

A leading member of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings’ campaign team, Dr Josiah Aryeh has denied speculations that the former First Lady is likely to stand by and become the running mate for Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah.

Dr Aryeh emphatically stated on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM Wednesday that Nana Konadu “is not prepared to be anybody’s running mate.”

According to the former General Secretary of the NDC, the Konadu camp is not afraid of competition for the flagbearership race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr. Aryeh added that they don’t believe in coalitions because “coalitions muddy the waters of competition and we should not be afraid of competition.”

He welcomed Dr Spio-Garbrah’s decision to contest saying that now that the race is now a three tier they must prepare for a good race.

Commenting on whether they are threatened by the crowd that cheered on President Mills last Thursday when he went to pick his nomination forms, Dr Aryeh said the President could have challenged Nana Konadu’s campaign by substance and not merely by the large number of people who were to support him.

He said the NDC delegates are more discerning now and will vote for the right candidate as the leader of the party.

Dr Aryeh further stated that given a level playing ground Mrs. Rawlings will easily win the elections.

NPP BLAST PRESIDENT MILLS FOR SHOW OF POWER

The NPP has blasted President Mills for the show of power when he picked nomination forms last Thursday.
The party noted that thousands of NDC supporters and over 60 Mass Transport buses were mobilized to take over the streets of Accra for hours on that day.
The Communication Director of NPP, Nana Akomea says the public broadcaster Ghana Television was also hijacked for hours at a reported cost of GH C 18,000 (C180 million).
He says thousands of innocent residents of Accra were held in heavy traffic under the scorching sun for hours and prevented from going about their normal business and social activities.
Nana Akomea says this is not the first time Professor Mills had picked nomination forms so it was strange how this one came with all the euphoria.

CAN DR. SPIO GARBRAH UNITE NDC?

Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah resigned as a Vice Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress and picked up nomination forms to challenge President Mills and former first Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings for the NDC flagbearer slot.
It could be recall that Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah contested the 2006 presidential primaries but lost to Prof Mills, who then went on to win the 2008 general elections.
The race for the NDC slot by the two other contestants has brought internal rankling in the Party leading to the President Mills and the Rawlingses faction.
But today, a delegation of seven tendered in Dr Spio-Garbrah’s resignation letter as Vice-Chair, and picked his forms today, May 10, the deadline for picking of nominations
We are joined by a Political Analyst form the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to look at the chances of Dr. Spio- Garbrah.
so can Dr Spio-Garbrah really unite the divided NDC?

Mills plans to use GHS 90m for campaign - Herbert Mensah

Former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah, has disclosed that security tapes he has had access to have revealed that President Mills’ campaign team plans to use about GHS90 million to fuel his campaign for flag bearer of the NDC.

Speaking on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem programme on Tuesday morning, Mr. Mensah said he and former President Rawlings discovered the information from security tapes they got from the Castle.

He was however not willing to go into details on the matter such as where the funds will be coming from, stating that at the appropriate time, they will come out with the full details.

Herbert Mensah who is also a staunch supporter of former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, said looking at the experience the former First Lady has especially in governance, he will not be surprised if she wins the flagbearership contest of the NDC at its July Congress.

Herbert Mensah reiterated that the NDC is a democratic party therefore any qualified person can decide to pick nominations to contest.

However, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Victor Smith challenged Herbert Mensah’s allegations describing the story as a means to damage the reputation, image and the credibility of the President.

Ambassador Smith, who was once the special aide to the Rawlingses said such negative information can drive potential investors out of the country and challenged Mr. Mensah to release the ‘so-called’ security tapes to confirm his claims.

He also accused Herbert Mensah of spying on the President which according to him is a security threat to the nation and called on the National Security apparatus to investigate the matter and bring those guilty of spying on the President to book.

He advised party members not to quickly jump to the media to disclose crucial information that could retard the progress of the party.

Ambassador Smith further called for a clean campaign towards the party’s Congress devoid of insults and cheap propaganda.

SPIO GARBRAH TO ANNOUNCE INTENTIONS TOMORROW

The Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah says he will end all speculations about whether he will contest in the NDC presidential primaries at 7am tomorrow on his facebook page.
He tells Adom News that he will respond to the new developments in the party and also settle all the speculations about his political future with an article on his facebook page.
There have been several speculations about Dr. Spio-Garbrah political future, including that he will either be contesting President Mills for the 2012 presidential slot of the NDC, run with Nana Konadu as her running mate or replace Nana Konadu as the candidate for the Rawlings faction.
Some pundits have also said that Dr. Spio-Garbrah will dump the Rawlings faction because Nana Kodanu’s candidature is a betrayal of an agreement they had that he will run from the Rawlings camp instead of the first lady.
Dr. Spio Garbrah was one of two candidates who lost the party’s presidential slot to Prof. Mills in 2008 and he has since been a major critic of the Mills government describing it as sick and its minister as Team B.
In more recent times he has said that President Mills does not have to run for a second term, arguably to make way for people like him to get the nod to lead the party.
In all these, Dr. Spio-Garbrah himself has failed to be open about his own political future, but he has now promised to settle the dusts on that matter tomorrow.
But ahead of that article, Political Analyst and Lawyer Osei Kwadwo believes that Dr. Spio-Garbrah will give Nana Konadu and President Mills a stiffer opposition if he decides to contest.
According to him, Ekwow Spio Garbrah might not be eying the 2012 elections.

Nana Konadu has launched her campaign and called on party members to be bold and reject bribes from the Mills camp and vote President Mills out.
Her husband, former President Rawlings, and Campaign Manager Michael Teye Nyaunu threw accusations and insults at the Mills government and party executives during the campaign launch.
But President Mills, his campaign team and the national executive reacted debunked some of the accusations but promised not to use the politics of insults, fabrications and accusations.
Would Spio-Garbrah add to the insults, or speak against the insults.
The answer will be in his article at 7am tomorrow on his facebook.

NDC has idolized Rawlings, they worship him like Jesus Christ - MP

The NPP Member of Parliament for Kade, Mr Ofosu Asamoah has blamed some members of the National Democratic Congress for idolizing former President Rawlings and his family, thus making it difficult for them to see any faults from him.

Mr. Ofosu Asamoah told Adom News virtually worshipping former President Rawlings as if he were Jesus Christ has been the major cause of the internal conflicts in the NDC.

He said most people in the NDC are afraid to point out his mistakes to him even when his decisions do not help the interest of party adding that giving him accolades such as “father, founder and one and only” have made Mr. Rawlings feel he is immortal.

Mr Ofosu Asamoah noted that former President Rawlings has never believed in democracy and accused him of always wanting things to be done his way.

He said persons such as the Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Micheal Teye Nyaunu; Sekou Nkrumah and Dr. Nii Josiah Aryeh who are in the camp of the Rwalingses, are unfortunately caught up in immortalizing him (Rawlings).

Mr. Ofosu Asamoah accused the former President of attempting to rule the country again through his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings who is contesting President Mills for the NDC flagbearer slot in July.

According to him, since the Constitution does not permit Jerry Rawlings to contest any elections in Ghana again, he is trying to use his wife to indirectly rule the country.

He asserted that a vote for the former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is a vote for Jerry Rawlings to rule the country again through the back door.

NPP READY TO WIN LOST CENTRAL REGIONAL PARLIAMENTARY SEATS

Lawyer Owusu Afriyie made those comments when the NPP led by the flag bearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made a post parliamentary primaries solidarity tour dubbed “All hands on deck” to the region.

Rawlings is not being truthful - Yaw Boateng Gyan

The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has said former President Jerry Rawlings is not being truthful by stating that the party's executives intentionally postponed its National Delegates’ Congress on two occasions to favour some people.

Mr Boateng Gyan says the former President is being misinformed about the day to day administration of the party by elements within his camp adding that those people will soon take all the glory away from him.

Speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM on Thursday, he said the executives never agreed on a specific date to hold congress and said it was unfortunate for anybody to say everything was planned to favour a particular group of persons.

Yaw Boateng Gyan claimed former President Rawlings was present at the National Executive Council Meeting when they took a collective decision to announce the date for the congress and was therefore surprised that he had turned around to make such statements.

Mr. Rawlings, who was a speaker at the launch of Nana Konadu’s flag bearer campaign on Wednesday at the Accra International Conference Centre, launched a series of attacks at the Atta Mills administration, and disclosed that the NDC had lost the 2012 presidential elections some eight months back.

But Mr Boateng Gyan has disputed the statement made by the former President explaining that the NDC is on course and will win the elections despite its internal conflicts.

He described as untrue, the claim that the President lost focus after two weeks in power insisting the NDC can win the 2012 elections without former First lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and that the NDC will maintain power if President Mills or Nana Konadu wins the flagbearership of the party in 2012.

He maintained that the party executives are ready to go all out to campaign vigorously for whoever will win the slot to lead the party.

Yaw Boateng Gyan stated that the party will not accept the old ways of doing things but rather give opportunity for new ideas to be explored.

The National Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anita De Souza has stated that, the Ex-President Jerry Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings will be the most affected and victimized, if the party loses power in 2012.

Anita De Souza confessed on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday that she got tired of going to the courts every now a then in support of the former first lady at a point, after the NDC lost the 2000 elections, and cannot stand another incident of a similar magnitude.

Anita De Souza was reacting to a statement attributed to Nana Konadu, who allegedly caller her (Anita) a traitor. “I am surprised that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is labeling me a traitor. I am thinking about how they will fare after the congress in July if they lost to President Mills”, she stated.

The National Women’s Organizer explained that she will even fast to prevent Nana Konadu from winning the candidature of the party over President Mills, if the need be.

She said she wished she had the opportunity to advise the former first Lady not to pick the nomination forms to contest in the July primaries since it will come to naught.

Asked why she supports President Mills ahead of her ‘mother’ Nana Konadu, Anita De Souza said President Mills is also capable enough to lead the party.

The Communication Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, Allotey Jacobs says the Rawlingses are living in ‘Wonderland’ thinking that they will win in the upcoming congress.
He explains that the more they attack the President the more he wins sympathy votes for the July congress.
Allotey Jacobs was reacting to statements by former President Rawlings at the launch of the Nana Konadu’s Presidential campaign in Accra.
