CAPE COAST POLYTECHNIC STAFF RAISE RED FLAG OVER RECTOR POSITION

Concerned staff of the Cape Coast Polytechnic has threatened to demonstrate if Mr. A.M. Koomson is appointed to the position as the Rector of the institution.
A lecturer and spokesperson of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Offei Appiah says Mr. Koomson does not meet the school’s requirement for a Rector as advertised but he has been shortlisted for interview.
Mr Emmanuel Appiah stated that they want the substantive Vice Rector, Mr. K.A. Simpson to be appointed the head of institution rather than Mr Koomson who has less experience.
The group believes there are political forces seeking to get Mr. Koomson appointed, and they wish to draw the attention of the President and all Ghanaians to the strange developments in the process of appointing a qualified person to the position.

Effort to reach the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary Education Mahama Ayariga proved futile.
