NATIONAL SERVICE PRESIDENT REPLIES OFOSU-AMPOFO

The President of the Tema Branch of the National Service Personal, Akwasi Mintah has slam back at the Minister of Local government Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo that service persons should have their first three months at the Military to instill discipline and commitment.
He explains that in the Western World their asset is the Military hence the law to post every citizen to do their national service at the Military.
He suggested that the best way to inculcate discipline among the youth is to tackle the situation at the grassroots level and not by discussing impracticable decisions.
Akwasi Mintah was speaking to Adom news at the Dinner ceremony to mark the national service celebration in Tema.

According to him, the government must make the Metro Mass Transit Transport free for service personal to serve as a motivation to them.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ashaiman, Nuumo Adinortey Addison tasks the personals not to rely on government for employment but establish their jobs.

CULTURE OF SAVINGS HAS IMPROVED BUT…

The Executive Director of Databank Financial Services, David Ogbarmey Tetteh says the investment culture of the people has improved in the past year.
But he explains that a lot of education needs to be done to promote savings culture among Ghanaians that would support the significantly higher levels of investment to propel the country improve the investment culture by 2015.
He said the banks and financial institutions need to roll out better policies that would encourage people to save, build capital and invest in businesses.
He alluded to people finding it difficult to save because packages presented to them are not favorable, and some feel that inflation, low interests and bank charges will wipe off their meager savings.
He made these statements at the Databank Annual General meeting in Accra.

DATABANK TO GO OIL

The Executive Director of Databank Financial Services, David Ogbarmey Tetteh has hinted that his outfit would create new financial needs to meet investment in the oil industry.
He explains that there are great opportunities in the new sector hence the decision to verge into the industry. He added that very soon Databank will introduce new products for investment in the oil industry
With the commencement of oil drilling in December 2010, David Tetteh says Ghana’s Economy will project by 12 per cent which will be fuelled by the Oil and the agric industry.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Databank Financial Services, Ken Ofori Atta has hinted that public expenditure will increase ahead of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections next year.
He explains that he expects the Hospitality, financial and the construction sector to grow from the Oil find.
