Okyeame Kwame:’ I was starving on stage’

The Rap-Doctor, as he is popularly referred to in showbiz, has exclusively responded to critics on the doubt of the chorus of his song ‘Faithful’.
He said he was starving whiles on stage when he was performing the song which led to doubt t about his voice.
According to him, he had attended to other duties during the day, working on his Hepatitis B campaign and other personal matters.
‘I had not eaten since morning because of busy schedules and that affected my voice and performance on stage’ he emphasized.
Speaking on Adom fm’s ‘Top 40’ programme on Saturday, Okyeame Kwame jokingly said ‘it about time the organisers (charter House) provided meal to artiste before they perform’
‘you see a lot of food on the table but the organisers will never serve you with one, I think it’s about time they consider giving artiste some small food before they perform’ he added
The 2009 Artiste of the year, debunk allegations that he is not the originator the chorus of his song.
Speculations are that the male voice in the chorus is that of Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena and of that of the female is Bertha Karikari of the Stars of the future fame. Somebody is yet to dispute Bertha’s version, but that of Kwame has come out of doubt, particularly when he is only known to be a consummate rapper and not a singer.
Commenting on the general organization of the MTN Ghana Music Awards 2011, he stated his satisfaction of the programme, declaring that this year’s event was wonderfully ‘executed’
He reiterated that those who watched it on the Television are the ones who were not happy about the organization.
‘ you should have been to the place to see it for yourself, the speakers, crowd, celebrations and the place was very good, and I congratulate the organisers they did a good job’ he noted.
Okyeame Kwame disclosed that he will launch s upcoming album, ‘The Clinic’, on July 28 which coincides with World Hepatitis B day. The album Features artistes like Sarkodie and other renowned stars.
Ghana’s rap doctor, Okyeame Kwame said he has achieved his aim of providing free hepatitis B screening to about 5000 Ghanaians.
