GOVERNMENT NEGLECTS LA HOSPITAL

The Medical Doctor at the La General Hospital, Dr Patrick Frimpong says the hospital has in the past 8 years not benefitted financially from the government.
He explains that the donor support account through which government channels money to the hospital has been empty for the past 8 years.
This he explains has compelled authorities to generate their funds internally to run the hospitals.
According to Dr Patrick Frimpong the hospital takes delivery of 5,000 babies per year but the maternity ward does not have enough beds to accommodate the babies.
He stresses that the annual budget of the hospital runs to about GHC3 million.
Speaking exclusively to Adom News, Dr Frimpong noted that the hospital is in shot of Nurses and Midwives and the Doctor to Patients ratio is about 1 doctor to 50,000 patients.

The Medical Doctor at the La General Hospital, Dr Patrick Frimpong is therefore appealing to the government to assist the hospital financially for the smooth administration of the hospital.
