New judgment debt at the rent control department

Till now looks like the amount of money in a judgment award to the winning party, which is owed to the winner by the losing party known as Judgment Debt is far from over as the Rent Control Department (RCD), predicts the latest judgment debt at its department.
In an interview with the National Officer of the RCD, Mr. A.S Dombo stated that the government has cut down more than half budget for the year
He says their 2012 budget of GHC659,559.00 which had been passed by parliament have been cut down to GHC113,735.89 making it difficult for the agency to operate.
According to him, due to the huge budget cut the state will have to pay judgment debt at the department because they have already entered into an agreement with constructors on their projects.
Speaking to Property Express, Mr. A.S Dombo stated that 5 constructors have began work at various offices nationwide and are expected to be paid by the end of the year.
He noted that if the department fails to pay the constructors in time, then they will have to continue with the tradition of including the bills in the next budget.
The state agency responsible for enforcing the rules relating to housing and rent as well as settling disputes that arise from such, currently finds itself in an unpleasant situation as it lack personals and logistics.
Mr. A.S Dombo revealed that the department since its establishment in 1963 currently has one car to conduct nationwide activities. This situation he added does not befit the agency.
He is therefore calling on the government to provide logistics and supply them with more personals at the office.
