TOURIST BOARD BOSS BLAME LA STAMPEDE ON LA TRADITIONAL AUTHORITY

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourist Board, Julius Debrah has attributed yesterday’s stampede that killed three people at the La Pleasure Beach to authorities’ refusal to hand over the place to the Tourist Board for the smooth administration of the venue.
Julius Debrah disclosed that they have held several meetings with the management of the beach but they say the land belongs to them and that government wants to take away the land from them.
According to him, the Ghana Tourist Authority would have professionally managed the situation if they had been in charge.
Julius Debrah stated that the issue has been sent to National Security for the necessary decision to be taken.

He recommended that people should explore the country’s other tourist destinations rather than focusing on one sector.
Julius Debrah explains that the country has a lot of tourists’ attraction so people should travel more on holidays to prevent stampede at a particular venue.
End.
