‘LIBYA’ MIGHT HIT GHANA

An Economic Consultant Dr. Kwamina Essilfie Adjaye has caution that the level of unemployment coupled with the high cost of living can make the Ghanaians hit the street to demonstrate against constitutional reform as been witness in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia.
He explains that the Libyan situation can possible happen in the country if authorities do not take curious effort to tackle the economic challenges in the country.
Dr. Kwabena Essilfie Adjaye says the youth are behind all the demonstrations in the North African states therefore if they are not employed the situation can prevail in Ghana.
If government continues to neglect the about 2 million people who are either unemployed or economically inactive, the country might "do an Egypt or Libya", according to Dr. Kwabena Essilfie Adjaye.
Dr. Kwabena Essilfie Adjaye predict that if governments fail to provide jobs for the youth in the next decade then the country should be ready to embrace riots.
Dr. Essilfie was referring to the recent protests in Cairo and Libya by the nation's youth against poverty and unemployment.
However, a Labour Consultant Austin Gamey believes that the situation prevailing in Libya cannot happen in the country.
He explains that the fact that there is unemployment situation is not as terrible as people try to make it seems.
Austin Gamey notes that there might be people who will feel bad about the situation but says it cannot make people hit the streets as in Libya or Egypt.
