NPP GROUP CANCELS DEMO AGAINST AKUFO-ADOO’S CAMPAIGN TEAM MEMBERS

Barely 24 hours after the Bantama constituency Deputy organizer Kwadwo Ofori threatened to demonstrate against Nana Addo over the selection of his campaign team, the group has turned around to change their decision.
The change has been necessitated by the intervention of a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr George Ayisi Boateng who met the group at an emergency meeting.
Mr. Ayisi said he was compelled to intervene due to the rising tension after news came out of the planned demonstration.
He stated that the Bamtama constituency executive of the NPP are currently locked up in an emergency meeting over a plan demonstration to Oppose the formation of the NPP New campaign for the 2012 polls.
According to him, the group calling itself concerned NPP members headed by Kwadwo Ofori have retracted their decision to embark on the demonstration on Saturday.

PAUL BOATENG DENIES MPS URGE FOR KONADU TO STEP DOWN

A member of the Nana Konadu Campaign team Paul Boateng has denied claims by the majority leader in parliament that Mrs. Rawlings had been asked to step down at a meeting yesterday.
He says at no point in time did the MP’s call on Nana Konadu to step down, however added that the beginning of the race when candidates were testing waters, that some MP’s made the suggesting and not at this parliamentary meeting.
Paul Boateng who was at the meeting said among the concerns that were raised at the meeting was the unity of the party after the congress and the fortunes of the party in the general elections.
According to Paul Boateng, Nana Konadu Rawlings assured the Parliamentarians of her commitment to unity and progress.
