500 mothers participate in Adom FM Mother’s Day Health Screening

500 mothers in the Tema Metropolis and its environs trooped to the New Crystal Hospital at Community 8 in Tema for a free health screening as part of Adom FM’s Mother's Day celebrations.

The free medical screening and treatment was aimed at addressing the health needs of people especially mothers in the Metropolis.

The team of specialists from New Crystal in Tema included dental and eye specialists, gynecologists and physicians.

Most mothers checked their blood pressure levels, weight, and sickling status and were given free counseling.

Dr Ebenezer Owusu Asiamah, the Unit Director of the New Crystal Hospital said the exercise was also aimed at providing medical training for health practitioners and forge partnerships with the people of Ghana through health delivery.

Dr Asiamah said the main diseases that were reported, included malaria, fever, boils, fungi and respiratory infections.

Dr. Asiamah advised patients to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and cautioned them to avoid eating fatty foods.

He said he was impressed about the turn-out and advised the people to keep their surroundings clean to avoid the breeding of mosquitoes in order to prevent malaria.

The event was sponsored by D’ Expert Rentals, Saint Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Shattered Life Rebuilding Ministries, and supported by the Miss Tourism Organisation.
