VEEP APPEALS TO RELIGIOUS LEADERS TO SUPPORT MILLS ON YA-NA

Vice President, John Mahama has appealed to the chiefs and religious leaders not to incite violence among the youth after the High court ruling of the Ya-Na case.
He urges them to rather support President Mills’s quest to bring the perpetuators of Ya-Na’s killing to book.
The Vice President made those comments when he attended the installation of a new Imam for the Western region named Ustaz Alhaji Ali Alhassan after the demise of Alhaji Ja Ajar Umar and his 40th day funeral prayers.

John Mahama disclosed that Ghana is close in achieving the Millennium Development Goal (MDGs) on school enrollment and girl child education.
He explains that by 2015 the country would have achieved girl child education and increase school enrollment.
But the Vice President stated that the goal will be a little difficult because there is figures in the Muslim community are disturbing in the quest to achieve the MDGs on education.
He therefore task the Muslim community to take advantage of government incentive on education so that the country can achieve its goals.

End.
