GES TO SANCTION INVIGILATORS GUILTY OF EXAMINATION MALFEASANCE

The Deputy Director of Ghana Education service, Stephen Adu has assured the public that GES will not spare any invigilator or supervisor who will be found guilty of examination malpractice in connection with the withholding of the results of 81 schools.
He explains that initial investigation has identified not only students, but invigilators who are assisting the officials with the investigations.
It will be recalled that recently WAEC released the results of last year’s WASSE examinations, withholding the results of 841 students and 81 schools across the country.
Though Mr. Adu could not state a specific time when the results will be disclosed, he was sure that those found culpable will be dealt with according to the law.

Commenting on whether the GES will use CCTV cameras in examination Halls in future exams, Mr. Adu said for now the service has not taken a decision on that but will use other technologies to assist in the monitoring of students.
He described such an investment as expensive in view of the large numbers of examination centers across the country.
Meanwhile reports say parents and students of the affected schools are living in fear and anguish over the delay in the determination of the issue.
