REFUGEE BOARD DENY UNHCR TAKING SIDES IN LIBERIA CAMP

The Chairman of the Ghana Refugee Board, Padi Tetteh has denied speculations that the United Nations High Commission for Refugee (UNHCR) supported a fraction of group to bring confusion at the Liberia Camp in Bududumram.
He explains that no external organ took side in the week-end of local election-related violence in which one person lost her life.

Meanwhile, Some refugees living at Bududuram near Cape Coast are demanding immediate repatriation to their home countries after clashes with the police.

The refugees are angry at the police after the death in the week clash it incident said was the murder of their colleague.

(50) Fifty refugees were arrested by the police for their roles in the violence and are due for prosecution.
Padi Tetteh says the refugees have resisted repatriation to the country but if they are now willing to go back then no one will prevent them.
