KWAMEKROM YOUTH DEMANDS RELOCATION

The youth of Kwamekrom and its environs in the Brong Ahafo Region has once again hit at Newmont Gold demanding relocation from the village.
According to spokesperson of the youth Osei Tutu, Newmont Gold has built a dam in the village which normally overflows its blanks leading to blockage of their roads.
Osei Tutu explains that two people have lost their lives since the overflow of the dam in the community.
The youth are therefore calling on the Management of Newmont Gold to immediate relocate them to prevent any further disasters

Meanwhile, the Director of External Affairs and Communications for Newmont Ghana, Adiki Ayitevie says they are not aware of the development.
She stated that they will carry investigations into the matter and react appropriately.
Elsewhere, the Management of Food and Drugs Board and EPA in the Brong Ahafo Region are visiting the scene to ascertain the situation for themselves and decide on their next line of action.
