FISHERMEN COUNCIL URGE GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH FISHERMEN DEVELOPMENT BANK

The Central Regional Chairman for the National Canoe Fishermen Council, Nana Joojo Solomon has call on the government to establish Fishermen Development Bank to support the fishing industry.
He explains that the Agricultural Developmental Bank (ADB) is no more supporting fishermen financially hence the need to establish a fund from the oil and gas industry to help support the industry.
Nana Joojo Solomon called on the stakeholders in the gas and oil exploration to assist the fishermen.
He stress that about 3 million fishermen might be affected with the gas and oil spillage therefore the government has to create alternative funds for them before the spillage begins.
