Nigeria Electoral Commission will be free and fair

The Head of Graduate School of Leadership and Governance at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Dr Kwaku Osei Akom believes the electoral commission of Nigeria will conduct free and fair elections in tomorrow’s Presidential elections.
Even though Nigeria’s electoral commission has postponed the elections on two occasions due to logistics, Dr. Akom believes the electoral commission has performed creditable well in the round up to the elections.
Dr Kwaku Akom who is just returning from Nigeria says unlike 2007 where there was electoral rigging and violence in some part of the country, stated that this years’ presidential elections will be better than before.

Dr. Kwaku Akom has however predicted a first round win for President Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian from the south, ahead of his main competitor former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari who is gaining tremendous grass-roots support across Nigeria's north.

BBC reports that the people have grown confidence in the EC after the Parliamentary elections last week.
But the National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng says that the Electoral Commission has performed poorly in the run up to the elections.
He explains that due to the continues postponement of the Presidential elections it will spark violence in the elections.
Yaw Boateng believes the electoral commission is to be blamed for any unfortunate events that will occur after the elections.
He caution Nigerians however to respect the results by the electoral commission.
