CHIEFS CALL ON DECORATORS TO DESIST FROM USING KENTE FOR DECORATIONS.

Two chiefs say the way decorators use the kente cloth for decorations at functions brings disrepute to chiefs who wear kente to such functions.
According to them, the use of the Kente for as covers for tables and chairs at such functions also depletes the value of kente itself as a national monument.
Tema Mantse, Nii Adjei Kraku II says the rampant use of such national monuments for decorations do not help to promote the culture of the country.
He therefore cautions professional decorators and event organizers to use any other fabric apart from Kente at state and other functions for decorations.

The Kontihene of Sunyani, Nana Boaponsem urges decorators to consider the level of the function before including kente in their decorative designs.
He stress that every Ghanaian need to play a role in preserving tradition values and ideologies but not to leave it on the shoulders of traditional leaders.
