Konadu will win NDC flagbearership by 80 per cent - Teye Nyaunu

The Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, Michael Teye Nyaunu has predicted an 80 per cent win for the former first Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings in the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) July Congress.

Mr. Nyaunu says the NDC will be the first to make history in the country when it elects the former First Lady as flag bearer of the party and subsequently as President of Ghana.

He was speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday in response to an article in the Enquirer newspaper that Nana Konadu has been shown the ‘red card’ by the NDC executives in the Western Region who have declared their support for President Mills against whom the former First Lady will be contesting.

Mr. Nyaunu denied the reportage saying that Nana Konadu has a strong support base who welcomed her when she visited the region.

He said the people of the Western Region are just throwing dust into the President’s eyes making him feel that he is on secure which of course he is not.

Mr. Nyaunu alleged that all the media reports against Nana Konadu are all propaganda from President Mills’ camp adding that if they are given level playing grounds, the former First Lady should be able to beat President Mills hands down.

But the Western Regional Youth Organiser of the NDC, Kwabena Mintah said there is no way Nana Konadu will win the July congress if she contests President Mills.

He explained that the President is on course to deliver the Better Ghana agenda so it will be in the party’s interest to allow the President to stay in office for a second term.

Kwabena Mintah reiterated that there is no room for Nana Konadu to win in the Western Region.
