RAWLINGS REFUSE TO ACCEPT KUFOUR’S INVITATION TO THE CASTLE

The former Minister of Interior in the erstwhile Kuffour government and a Prominent Lawyer, Nana Obiri Boahen says former President Kuffour officially invited President John Rawlings to the Castle but the latter refuse to accept the invitation.
Nana Obiri Boahen recounts that during the Ghana @50 celebration and Kofi Annan’s visit to the country as the General Secretary of the United Nations President Kuffour invited Rawlings but he refused to show up on both occasions.
He explains that both Presidents held series of meetings when Kuffour assumed power but later the relationship broke up due to the numerous insults by the former President Rawlings.

Nana Obiri Boahene however congratulated President Mills for setting the pace for other countries and politicians to follow.
He notes that it was unfortunate for Candidate Mills not to accept similar invitation by Kuffour to the Castle when he was the then candidate of the NDC.
