ADJEI DARKO: DO NOT DRAW DEMARCATION WITH CENSUS RESULTS

Former Minister of Local Government under the erstwhile Kuffour’s administration, Kwadwo Adjei-Darko says the electoral commission should not draw a new demarcation base on the recent census release by the statistical service.
He says the result of the census is debatable thus the electoral commission will create confusion if they come up with new demarcation to increase members of parliament.
He stress that even though Article 47 in the 1992 constitution mandates the EC to review electoral demarcations it will be of no importance for them to utter constituencies.
Kwadwo Adjei-Darko has urge Politicians not to read any political meanings into the results but rather blame the Ghana Statistical service for a shoddy work done.
He explains that the statistical service should be made to appear before Parliament to address issues relating to the results.

End.
