DCE ACCUSES SPOKESPERSON OF KENYASE YOUTH OF POLITICIZING PROJECT

The District Chief Executive for Asutifi South, Eric Addai has accused the spokesperson of the Kenyasi community, Adusah Yakubu of politicizing the usage of the GHC3.1Million compensation paid by Newmont Ghana Gold Limited.
According to him Mr. Adusah Yakubu is making his work difficult by obstructing his desire to use the money to construct a market centre for the residents in fulfillment of the party’s electoral promises.
But the residents say they prefer hospital to the market but the DCE insists using the money to construct a market for the community, a move the youth resisted.
The DCE who is angry by the attitude of the youth accused the spokesperson of the youth, Adusah Yakubu of being a member of the opposition NPP, an allegation Yakubu has denied.

Mr. Addai says it is unfortunate that some people are politicizing the project, describing those who are not in favor of the project as opposition of government decision.
He said to the best of his knowledge, there has never been a meeting to discuss the construction of hospital but instead an agreement was reached on constructing a market for the community.
He added that the community already has two hospitals which are undergoing rehabilitation.
