NADMO WANTS AUTHORITY TO DEMOLISH BUILDINGS

The Central Regional Administrator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Tony Arkorful has called on the government to give them the right to demolish buildings and structures in disaster zones.
He says that the District Assemblies have so much do so they cannot concentrate on demolishing buildings in disaster zones, so it will be prudent to authorize NADMO to do that job.
According to him, buildings in water ways are the major causes of flooding and its resultant loss of life and displacement.
He made the call in an interview with Adom News during a day’s workshop for Heads of Departments, chiefs and security agencies on how to prevent disasters.
