GOVERNMENT MUST ENFORCE LAW ON EARLY MARRIAGES

Child Rights Activist, Bright Appiah has called on the government to immediately enforce the law which prohibits force and early marriages in the country.
He says force marriages tend to violent the rights of the children as well as their psychological makeup.
According to him, parents and guardians do not have the right under the constitution to allow early marriages of the children.
Bright Appiah was commenting on the unfortunate incident in Bawku where a 15 year old girl was forced into marriage.
He urged Parents and guardians to recognize the decision of the child before agreement is made on the marriage.
