The Police Chief Inspector at the Dadieso station, Chief Inspector John Augustine Asante has reveal that since the Political turmoil erupted in Cote D’Ivoire about 1 million estimated Ivoirians have cross the border into the country.
He explains that the Ivoirians use his area as transit point to other cities in the country particularly Kumasi, Takoradi and Accra.
Chief inspector Asante tells Adom news that they are monitoring their movement in the country to check criminal and immoral activities.
Listeners would recall that about 157 Ghanaians in the Cote D’Ivoire have return to the country after disrupted election between President Laurent Gbagbo and Alassene Quatarra.
However, chief inspector Asante says the Dadieso Police command is closely working with other sub-stations to help protect them and the people of Ghana.
Chief Inspector Asante assures the public of close surveillance in the activities of the Ivoirians in the country.

GHANA’S FOOTBALL BRAND INFLUENCES FIFA’S RANKING
A soccer Analyst and renowned sports Journalist, Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah believes that the brand of the Black Stars influenced FIFA’s decision in making Ghana’s national team the best on the continent.
He explains that football has moved away from just win and loses to how passionate and marketable a team can be.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah tells Adom news that the Black Stars have been the toast of the continent and many football teams in the world will not mind to pay expensive money just to play them.
The Sports Analyst who side with FIFA’s rankings on Ghana says it’s a shame football is moving at that direction.
He says a lot of things go on to determine the position of a team on the rankings.
He made this comments today in reaction to arguments by some soccer followers who critise the current rankings, since according to them Ghana does not deserve the number one position on the continent.
Commenting on the current controversy between CAF and BBC player of the year, he explains that its time the two entities merge to award the best player on the continent.
He says this partnership will go a long way to strengthen football on the continent.
This came to light after two of Ghana’s player Samuel Osei Kuffour and Asamoah Gyan were robbed off the chance to win the CAF awards.

GHANA DO NOT DESERVE AFRICA’S BEST
A soccer Analyst Carl Tuffour says Ghana do not deserve to be rank first on the continent as the country has fail to produce results in their previous encounters.
He explains that the fact that the black Stars were in the finals of the African Cup and quarter final at the World Cup does not mean the nation rightly deserve to be first on the continent.
Carl Tuffour warn that the country should not rejoice over this events but says the authorities have to be more serious in the development on lower sports.
He explains to adom news why FIFA ranking on the Ghana is not void.
Meanwhile,Ghanaians were full of happiness, Satisfaction and honoured to be Africa’s number one on the continent. The latest FIFA rankings have been rated Ghana as Africa’s best nation.
The Black Stars are now placed 15th on the ranking on FIFA’s rankings. The position is due to the significant devaluation of the points won a year ago at the Africa Cup of Nations, many teams have slid down the rankings this month.
The World Cup quarter-finalists take over from African champions Egypt who fell drastically from 13 place to 33.
Ivory Coast are the second ranked country on the continent and 26th in the World.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria also slipped eight places down and now ranked 40th; Algeria moved down 19 places to place 55th.

NO COMPENSATION FOR LOAD SHEDDING SAYS GRIDCO
The Public Relations Officer of Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) Albert Quainoo says the company is not obliged to compensate anyone or any community to be affected by the planned (Electrify) load shedding which is scheduled to begin from February 5 to March 12.
Mr. Quainoo tells Adom News that the exercise is in the interest of the entire nation and therefore no one can insist that compensation should be paid.
This is against the earlier position stated by the PURC that anyone who is able to produce enough evidence to show that they have experienced a loss due to the power outage will be compensated.
Albert Quainoo says only a few communities will be affected by the outage in Accra and Tema.
He explains that that the exercise is to enable the Company to add a new transmission line to the existing three transmission lines serving Accra and its environs from Tema.

NAB TO CLOSE DOWN ILLEGAL PRE-UNIVERSITIES
The Public Relations Officer at the National Accreditation Board, Richard Adjei has disclosed that some of the illegal pre-universities might be forced to close down if they do not get the necessary requirement to perform their duties.
He says they have written to the education ministry and are waiting for the green light to take the necessary action.
Richard Adjei says it’s not the first time they have come out to caution the public about the illegality of Pre-University programmes.
He explains that the certificates awarded are not a requirement for entrance to the various universities in the country.
He made these comments when a group known as the National Youth Leadership Forum called on President Mills to sack the management at the National Accreditation Board (NAB) because they find them incompetent.
The interim president of the group, Prince Osei Tutu said they do not fit their offices; he described them as incompetent, impotent and incapable of the duty assigned them.
