A political Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Amakye Boateng has urge losers of the NDC primaries to go independence if they are convinced that they can win in 2012 elections.
He stated that if they have enough evidence that the elections were manipulated to favour one candidate then they can consider going independent.
He made these statements when Micheal Teye Nyanunu threatened to go independent. Other losers includes: Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Kuntu Blankson lost the seat to Abeiku Crentsil, Elizabeth Amoah Tetteh , Deputy Education Minister, Ho Central, incumbent Capt. George Kofi Nfojoh
He stated that that the reconciliation will help settle all discrepancies that might have occurred during the NDC primaries.
But Amakye Boateng stated the NDC should solve these problems as it can affect their chances in the elections

GPRTU, VEEP HAPPY WITH TRANSPORT FARES
The greater Accra Chairman of GPRTU, Alhaji Issah Tetteh says they are happy to have convinced the Vice President for the increment in transport fares.
He stated that the Vice President had wanted them to reduce transport fares but upon meeting with them it became necessary to maintain the fare prices.
Alhaji Issah Tetteh made these statements when they meet with Vice President at the castle to discuss fuel price increases.
The Vice President, John Mahama says government is ready to look a the recent petrol price increases if stakeholders are to come out with alternatives.
John Mahama expressed his displeasure over the recent world crude prices increase which it affecting developing countries.
He said they will meet the TUC on Wednesday to discuss effort in controlling fuel prices.

MP RECEIVES DEATH THREATS AFTER LOSING PRIMARIES
The Member of Parliament for Akan Constituency in the Volta Region, Mr Joseph Kwadwo Ofori says he has received numerous death threats after the NDC parliamentary primaries last Saturday.
He explains that his family members have been attacked while property has been destroyed after he won the seat to represent the constituency.
Mr Joseph Kwadwo Ofori stated that land guards have also destroyed his family properties and injured two of his family members.
The incumbent MP who lost the primaries to Mr Kwadwo Gyapong winning blamed his opponents’ supports for the threats.

DOCTOR CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE MEDICAL HELP FOR ‘GINGER INSERTED’ VICTIMS
A Gynecologist, Dr Padi Ayeetey has called for immediate medical and psychological attention for the four girls of Grace Academy at Amanase whose vaginas were inserted with ginger concoctions.
He stated that the students risk still birth if immediate medical attention is not given to them.
Dr Padi Ayeertey says the victims might also shy away from normal intimate relationship in the future because of the trauma.
We wish to state that the incident happened at Grace Academy at Amanase and not Glory Preparatory School at Suhum.
Meanwhile, the Proprietor of Grace Academy at Amanase in Eastern Region, Pastor Abraham Owusu has been remanded in prison custody by the Suhum Circuit Court
He was charged with indecent assault and he is to reappear before court on January 24, 2012.

NDC aspirant disqualified for using wife ID card
Sefwi Wiaso NDC constituency has disqualified one of the parliamentary aspirants, Thomas Armah for presenting his wife’s party ID card as identification during committee vetting.
According to the youth organiser, Kwaku Saibu, the committee decided to disqualify Thomas Armah because he failed to convince them he was a party loyal member by presenting his wife’s ID card.
He tells Adom news that Thomas Armah told them that he had lost his party membership card, the situation which forced him to

He explains that the party officials have not issued new party cards for the past four years stating that this informed his decision to present his wife ID to the vetting committee.
According to him, some of the committee members have given him the green light to use it. Thomas Armah said he suspected some party officials behind his disqualification. He stated that a lot of the members have labeled him potential threats to the rest of the aspirants.
