GII: GOVERNMENT TACTICS TO COMPACT CORRUPTION AND BRIBERY IS WRONG

The Coordinator, Advocacy and Legal Advisor at the Ghana Integrity Initiative, George Amu blames government for poor tactics in compacting corruption in the society. George Amu stresses that some government officials have amass worth within short period of time.
He says poverty and family financial issues are the main factors that push people to engage in bribery and corruption.
He was commenting on the global coalition against corruption known as Transparency International in Berlin annual report in 2010 indicates that world bribery and corruption is on the increase as against three years ago.
In Ghana, Transparency International indicates that organizations such as the Police, Judiciary, Politicians, Local government, Financial Institutions and Security institutions were the most corrupt agencies.
George Amu explains the rationale which pressures people to engage in bribery and corruption.

The Coordinator, Advocacy and Legal Advisor at the Ghana Integrity Initiative, George Amu says the country should change the educational curricular to make children have more patriotism and good moral foundation.
This he explains will help reduce bribery and corruption in the society. George Amu tells Adom news that the best way to reduce bribery and corruption is to seek the solution from the basic development of children.
