MORE PEOPLE WILL DEFECT TO NDOUM’S PPP IF… CPP WOMEN’S ORGANISER

The interdicted Women’s Organiser, Mary Ankomah has once again hit at the current crop of leadership of the Convention People’s Party stating that if the CPP do not handle the aftermath of the exit of its 2008 Flagbearer from the party, the CPP can be plunged into more chaos.
Ms Ankomah in an interview expressed fears that the party will have a tough time dealing with the aftermath of Dr Ndoum’s exit because of the posit of it’s core leaders.
She cautioning that if not handled with care, a chunk of Dr Ndoum’s supporters will go along with him.
Mary Ankomah denied that she organized a number of the party’s supporters to defect to Ndoum’s new PPP.
Nonetheless, she expressed her optimism that the current problems can be overcome through dialogue.

UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES HIT BACK AT DR AGYEKUM ADDO

The Acting president of Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana (UGAG), Justice Kojo Antwi has hit back at Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAMA Group of Companies, Dr Michael Agyekum Addo for advising that graduate must resist joining the group.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAMA Group of Companies, Dr Michael Agyekum Addo speaking at the 35th Congregation of the Christian Service University College (CSUC), argued that becoming a member of the association could consign one to perpetual unemployment, when there were several opportunities out there to exploit.

But Justice Kojo Antwi stated that the group does not hinder graduates opportunities of getting job arguing that the group has attracted numerous offers from companies who employ them.

BNI SUBMITS INTERIM REPORT

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has presented its interim report through the National Security Coordinator to His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills today.

The BNI was tasked by President Mills on 14th December, 2011 to investigate and report on how a substance confirmed to be cocaine turned into sodium bicarbonate whiles in the custody of police and or the courts.

A statement from the Ministry of Information says the President has now received of the BNI’s interim report and is studying it for further action.

VEEP ASSURES EC OF GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

The Vice President, John Mahama has reassured the public that the government will facilitate the operations of the electoral commission to ensure transparent elections.
He stated that government has also put in place all the necessary security measures in place to ensure that Ghanaians are safe during the elections.
He made these statements at Gomoa Pomadze during the opening ceremony of the 80th annual national convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana.
He made a passionate appeal to religious leaders to play their role in the upcoming general elections so as to ensure free, fair and transparent elections
He also urged the religious bodies to remain non partisan and neutral in the elections.

The NPP National Chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey urged religious bodies to play an active role in assuring that elections are peaceful.
He said political parties are competing to be servants therefore all political parties should accept the results of the elections and work to ensure peace in 2012.

INTERIOR MINISTRY IMPOSE CURFEW AT KWAME DANSO

The Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council in consultation with the Interior Ministry have imposed a curfew at Kwame Danso in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The curfew is to be observed today from 6 pm to 6 am.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo disclosed to Adom news that the move became necessary when 2 people died and a police officer was beaten as a result of some misunderstanding between the youth and the police officer to embark upon a peaceful demonstration in the area in protest to the absence of Omanhene in the area.
Speaking in an interview with Adom news, Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo says Police and Military persons have been deployed to maintain peace in the community.
