POLICE ARE NOT ALLOW TO TAKE THEIR WEAPONS HOME

The Deputy Director of Communication at the Police service, DSP Cephas Arthur says the law does not permit police personnel’s are to take their weapons to the various homes.
He explains that the police personnel’s are require to return their weapon from where they book it.
DSP Cephas Arthur notes that due to the accommodation challenges of the service they sometimes permit them to take their weapons home but under strict supervision from authorities.
He gave those explanations after the news team observed that some Police men take home their weapons.

He explains that the fact that some of the police personals sometimes take their weapons home does not guarantee that they use they weapons in operations.
He says the most of the armed robbers usually operate with locally manufactured weapons and also pointed due to the numerous conflict in the sub region would amount to that.

Meanwhile, security analyst has call for a strict monitoring of the weapons to prevent weapon smuggling in the security service.

PRESIDENT MILLS IS NOT QUALIFY TO MEDIATE IN COTE D’IVOIRE

Ranking member on Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway says president mills disqualified himself as a candidate to mediate in the Ivoirian crises after he recently urge Ghanaians to ‘mind their own business’ and not to interfere in the conflict in Cote D Ivoire.
Shirley Ayorkor Botchway made this comments after the deputy minister of information James Agyenim Boateng said Ecowas has will not permit neighboring countries to mediate in the political turmoil.
She stresses that AU and the ECOWAS should give more time to the three head of state assigned to mediate in conflict for them to complete the assignment.
The Former Minister of Information in the Kufour regime explains that the ECOWAS should hold another emergency meeting to find a lasting solution to the crisis.
She explains that Alassane Ouattara yesterday rejects negotiation with Laurent Gbagbo offer to make him the Vice President.

RAWLINGS URGE GOVERNMENT TO INCLUDE CIVIL SERVICE IN THE SINGLE SPINE

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has urge government to immediate mediate to help kick start the civil service on the single spine salary structure.
He made this comments after media reports that the civil service are drugging the fair wages to court over their inclusion to the single spine.
Former President Rawlings says the Civil service are unsung heroes and do not receive praise whenever the government of the day performs well.
He explains that the achievement of any government is made on the shoulders of civil servants therefore government must make sure their demands are meant.
He made this statement at the 11th quadrennial congress of the civil and local government staff association in Cape Coast.

Ghana coming to Wembley

England will play host to Ghana in the first ever meeting between the two nations in March.

Three days after the first Euro 2012 qualifier of the year, away to Wales, Fabio Capello's side will face the Black Stars at Wembley.

Ghana achieved the highest place of all African teams at the World Cup in South Africa last year, and were a penalty shoot out away from the semi-finals.

There will be a number of familiar faces on show with the likes of Michael Essien, John Pantsil, Asamoah Gyan, Richard Kingston and John Mensah all currently plying their trade in the Premier League.

There have been a handful of meetings at youth level, Ghana beat England convincingly 4-0 at the FIFA U20s World Cup two years ago, while England U18s emerged the victors in 2007 in a friendly at the Priestfield Stadium. The meeting on Tuesday 29 March will however be the first meeting at Senior level.

It has also been confirmed that England will not face Thailand in June. Although an informal agreement had been reached for a friendly match following the qualifier with Switzerland, no formal details in terms of match date or venue had ever been established and following discussions by The FA Board it was decided not to go ahead with the fixture.

Tickets for Ghana at Wembley will go on sale to englandfans members on Friday 28 January, and to the general public on Tuesday 1 February.
